As some of you may know, I did a dance show last month! So I’m here to review the products I used during that production. First off, the eyeshadow I used was brilliant! I used NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Compact. The colors lasted for the entirety of the show, brightened my eyes (which is a must for the audience) and did not run a bit! The best part of all of this: Influenster provided me with this lovely eyeshadow for free!
Usage tip: instead of trying to blend all at once, layer the eyeshadow on a few times, starting with the contour. The color will show up better and look nicer!
Go check it out and buy some, it’s fab!
Also, I used Kiss Ever Pro Lashes for the billionth time again. I love those. Fullest lashes you could ever buy without looking crazy like Madam Gaga. They worked great for stage, but lets be real, I’d wear ‘em out. I say ditch the applicator thingy, and just wing it, but these lashes are wonnnderfuuul!

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen

Its Influesnter review time!! For those of you who aren’t familiar with Influenster, its a fantastic website that sends you complimentary products so that you can try them out and write reviews for the general public. One of the free items I got in my ‘Vox-Box’ this round was the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen! It is great because it feels like a regular lotion! Its super super important to wear sunscreen every day all year round to avoid harmful sun damage. It does have a beachy-sunscreen smell, but its not unpleasant by any means. The smell sort of fades away after a few minutes, but then again, I could just be getting used to it.

COKE

Check out my latest short film! It’s a satire about NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg’s effort to restrict sugared beverages larger than 16 oz! If you like it, share it with all of your friends!!

Kiss Nail Dress

I confess… I am a nail salon addict. I hardly ever do my nails at home because I almost always get Shellac. I can never get the nail polish to look remotely decent when I do it myself, so I pretty much just gave up! When I got these in the mail, I was a little bit hesitant. All other stickers I had gotten for my nails were weak and flimsy, and I always screwed them up when I ‘tried’ to put them on. I finally removed my Shellac for a performance I did, and afterwards, I replaced my always black nail polish with this vibrant and fun cheetah print sticker. It was great because they were thick enough that they didn’t collapse when I tried to put them on my nails, but thin enough that I could easily file off the end. My nails look just as good as when I get them done professionally at the salon. The background color is great on these because you can hardly tell I made the few mistakes I made! I got these nail stickers COMPLIMENTARY from Influenster! It’s a great site, and totally worth the effort of making posts about products you recieve! Nail Dress’ suggested retail is $6.99 and is available in all major drug chains and mass retailers like WalMart, CVS and Walgreens.
“Introducing Kiss Nail Dress, ultimate nail fashion for tips and toes! Just peel, apply, and shape for a manicure that lasts up to 10 days. On in minutes, off in seconds without remover. Nail Dress is available in 18 different styles, many of them featuring 3-dimensional jeweled designs. Check out Peplum, a deep black with multi-colored gems for a pop of color, or Babydoll, for a golden and glamorous jeweled look. Skip the topcoat, Nail Dress has it built in.

With 28 strips in each package, you can cut up your extras to create designs that can be used on top of polished or artificial nails. Nail Dress doesn’t dry out the way other polish strips can, so you can save them to use on your next DIY mani. A nail design booklet is included in each package, just in case you need a little inspiration.

And don’t forget about your feet! Nail Dress looks awesome on toes, too – just use the square side of the sticker for a perfect fit.”

Truvía® natural sweetener Product Review!

I have to admit, my guilty pleasure is a fully-loaded-absolutely-amazing-in-every-way Smoothie King Smoothie (not one of the healthy flavors slim down flavors either). I lately tried the ‘skinny’ version of my favorite Green Tea Tango… I also tried their new Lean1 in hopes that my dancing would actually be beneficial rather that a way to counteract my nonsensical eating habits. Neither option was that smoothie I know and love. When I got home with my ‘skinny green tea smoothie’ that tasted more like a frozen real green tea than an ice-creamy wonder, I ran to the kitchen and grabbed just 1 packet of Truvia and put it into my smoothie. This magnificent 0 calorie sweetener made it taste almost as good as the smoothie I always get! It added just enough sweetness to my shnazzy beverage, but I knew it was better for me than any other sweetener I could have chosen! Also, it was also great in my hot tea! It’s really good you guys! I got it in my Influenster Vox Box for free! Sign up for Infuenster and get free products to test! To get Truvia to put in your smoothies or tea, go to www.truvia.com!

Creamy Devotion

I am usually a fan of dark chocolates, and I have never really chosen Ghirardelli when I have purchased chocolates. I have always gone to my (arguably overpriced, but incredibly delicious) Godiva shop to buy chocolates. I figured I might as well be paying up for the calories, because it better be worth it. With Influesnter, I was ‘forced’ to eat this blue-packaged-non-Godiva-sweetness. To be honest, milk chocolate was my childhood favorite and now I have moved on to the oh-so-mature Godiva Dark Chocolate with Fleur de Sal. So really, not that mature, but it tastes great. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this creamy milk bar since it was milk chocolate but… it was FANTASTIC! After always eating dark chocolate for so long, it was great eating the milk chocolate. I was expecting something from the range of the loved smore topper: Hershey’s bar, but instead, I got Heaven. It was smooth and creamy and wonderful in every way possible. I ate it on the plane after the stressful airport venture through bagging and security during the spring break rush and it calmed me down with its great chocolatey qualities. A must buy for anyone.

Green Liner Tutorial!

Step 1: Prep the eye area with a cream based eyeshadow primer if you have one. If you dont, you can use your concealer for this. Make sure you cover the entire eye area that you plan on working on to ensure that the color stays the same from the palette to your eye.

Step 2: Using a small angled eyeliner brush, apply a matte black color starting from the inner corner of your eye moving outwards in small strokes. I used MAC in Carbon. Continue adding more shadow to get a solid line. To create the cat eye that is in the photo, I made a line that went straight out from the inner corner of my eye lid to the point where I wanted the cat eye to stop. I then did the same from the bottom and then filled in the space in the middle.

Step 3: Cover the entire eye with a metallic silver color. I used MAC eyeshadow in Electra for this because it has the perfect amount of metallic. I then blended MAC Frosty Deep Grey from a Pro Palette Double Feature from the outside inwards to bring more depth to the look.

Step 4: Using the same eyeliner brush from before (cleaned of course), I took the Bright Lime that was paired with the Frosted Deep Grey in the Pro Palette and lined the outside of black line. This created a double line that flared out even further than the original black line. You want to keep in mind how flared the black line is when deciding how large the overall flare will be (it will be about 1/3 of the length of the total line).

Step 5: Go back in and do any touch-ups to clean everything up and finish off with an under-brow and inner eye corner highlight in a shimmery cream color. I once again used MAC, but in Nylon.

Have a great day everyone and I hope you have fun with this wild/fun eye makeup!

Easy Makeup Tutorial!
This post is my latest make up tutorial! I have gotten very into red lipstick lately, so I wanted to play with that.
I started off with a base of MAC Studio Fix Fluid in AA1 (Yes, I am very pale) I applied that with a wide flat foundation blush.
Then I applied a a bit of MAC Sheertone Blush in Tenderling.
First, I lined my lips with MAC Lip Pencil in Redd. I filled in my entire lip with this so that the color would last for a long time. It’s alright to go a little outside of the line with this to even out sides so that your lips are more symmetrical; however you want to be careful with this. Don’t go too far outside of your natural lip line.
After I filled in my lips, I used a coat of Avon Perfect Wear in 24 Hour Red. This adds on to the long lasting properties of this lip color. It’s great because the texture is very smooth and silky.
For my eyes, I used one light coat of L’oreal Voluminous Million lashes so as not to distract from the intense black eyeliner.
I used an angled eyeliner brush and dipped in in water and then Elf Eyeshadow in black. I made a smooth, straight line from the inside corner of my eye outwards. I then did the same from the bottom and filled in the space in the middle with more black. It will take a few tries to get this right and symmetrical, but it is definitely worth it.
Finally, I used a flat eyebrow brush to fill in my eyebrows with a MAC Eyshadow in Omega.
The final look turned out fun, and I will definitely wear it out soon!
